Mission Motorsport provides opportunities for wounded, injured and sick Service Personnel and Veterans (WIS) to engage with Motorsport whilst providing vital training and networking into the automotive industry as part of the Recovery Career Service (partnership between MoD and a number of Charities to increase the success of WIS transition into civilian employment). In Mission Motorsport’s first two years in operation, they provided over 1200 man training days to 320 WIS and aided 62 placements into industry.
The motorsport activities see the team engage with various rallies, races and events around the country helping to inspire others and rebuild confidence in themselves. This exciting and rewarding sport introduces and develops a host of new and existing skills whilst developing resilience and an ability to cope with disability in different and testing environments.
The Endeavour Fund is proud to support Mission Motorsport by helping to improve their training facilities that will increase the effectiveness of the team both in their sporting activities and through assisting in the transition of WIS into the civilian work environment. The site will be used to train WIS in recognised qualifications related to motorsport including a City & Guilds L3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
“None of this would have been possible without the support given from all the charities involved in my case. The ABF, Help for Heroes and not least to Mission Motorsport and the RCS for not only finding me the work placement but also the ongoing support of ensuring that everything is ok both work wise but also in the emotional support given…” LCPL COLIN PENNINGTON
