Turn to Starboard

2018

Turn to Starboard is a registered charity which uses sail training to support Armed Forces personnel who have been affected by military operations. TTS helps retired and serving personnel and their families, and for reservists and regulars. TTS offers all individuals affected by operational tours to undertake RYA Day Skipper and Competent Crew courses, enables service families who have been affected by their service to sail together off the coast of Cornwall,& and offers Tall Ships sailing for those with an adventurous streak.

TTS offers a complete training package for those who wish to further their sail training and qualifications with their ‘zero to hero’ programme, – a training programme with flexible, expert tuition culminating in a RYA Yachtmaster and commercially endorsed Cruising Instructor qualification. The training modules take 16 weeks to complete, but T2S participants can schedule the training and mileage building over a period to suit them. Typically participants would complete the course within one year.

The Endeavour Fund is delighted to have supported TTS since 2016 supporting a number of Round Britain Challenge’s, which has enabled over 50 wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans to take part, sailing over 2000 miles around the British coast in a 92 ft tall ship.
