Flying for Freedom is an organisation supported by Help for Heroes and the Endeavour Fund. Its main objective is to aid the recovery of Wounded Injured and Sick Service personnel and Veterans (WIS) through flying microlights. Learning to fly microlights is a fast track way to get in the air, you could be flying solo in as little as 15-25 hours! Microlight flying is thrilling – you are out in the open air, the views and the experience are amazing… But most of all it’s about having fun within a team environment.
Pilots from the WIS community will be taking part in an incredible endeavour this July in which they will circumnavigate Great Britain in their tiny aircraft and they want others to share in the experience. The Flying For Freedom team will be stopping at six airfields around the country where they’ll be offering other members of the WIS community the opportunity to enjoy a short flight in one of their micro-light aircraft. Each venue has been chosen due to its close proximity to Personnel Recovery Centres and so hopefully there will be a stop near you!
