A female team of serving and wounded, injured and sick veterans are cycling 3000 miles from west to east coast, tackling some of Americas most diverse terrain, with a team of 8 riders and 11 crew. The riders will rely on a strong team ethos to stay motivated whilst navigating through 12 states and climbing over 190,000 ft in just 7 days.
The Race Across America is one of the most respected and longest running endurance events in existence, where riders and crew must endure mountain and desert terrain. All of the riders in the Mind Over Matter team are new to the RAAM challenge but the team will use knowledge and experience from previous challenges and other veterans.
“What these remarkable ladies embarking on is truly inspirational”
– Dame Sarah Story DBE, Challenge Ambassador
The team ‘Mind Over Matter’ is an inspired project. Led by Sally Orange, the team will work together throughout the year to train and develop together to create positive change throughout the event and beyond.
There is a common thread amongst the team; to use this challenge to re-discover their focus and confidence overcoming life’s daily struggles, creating an environment of inspiration for themselves and for those who suffer with mental andphysical health challenges.
